Announcing RootBeer Garden with Sweets!

Lost Coast Brewery rootbeer will be fresh from the keg at Reggae Riding! Replacing the beir garten, there will be a lush rootbeer garden next to the barn featuring delicious, locally-brewed Lost Coast Brewery rootbeer. We're hoping to have rootbeer floats and other sweets for sale such as cookies and brownies. Bring the kids and refill the calorie tank after a hard day's race in the hot sun!

Also, please note that this is now a no-alcohol event. We will not be serving any alcoholic beverages and request that you don't bring any of your own.

The SoHum Community Park thanks you for your understanding and cooperation.

Please Note: NO CAMPING at event site, camp in Benbow instead

There will no longer be camping at the Southern Humboldt Community Park event site in Garberville. The park has requested that people respect their request and camp elsewhere. We have some sites reserved and there are many more available at the Benbow Lake State Campground. Benbow is a large campsite with very nice facilities close-by in Benbow, only 2 miles south of Garberville on the 101. The campsite has showers, fire rings, picnic areas, nice restrooms, and river access. The sites towards the back of the campground offer ample shade on a hot summer day.
Driving Directions:
From 101 heading South, take the Benbow exit off highway 101, just 2 miles past Garberville. Head South on Benbow Drive, following along the river. The state park entrance is to the right, crossing a low-water bridge to the main fee area. We encourage camping near the rear end of the campsite for tents.

Listen to the Interview! Emma and Barbara Groom on KMUD

Local radio station KMUD (91.1FM) interviewed Emma Worldpeace of Team Lost Coast Brewery and Barbara Groom, Brewmaster/Owner of the Lost Coast Brewery on August 15th, 2007. Emma and Barbara were interviewed by Juna and BR on the weekly Women on Wednesday show. Emma spoke about racing and training at the expert women's level and the upcoming Reggae Riding event, which she is helping to organize. Barbara, who is the only female Brewmaster and owner of a brewery in the US, spoke about her entrepreneurial efforts, supporting the mountain bike team, managing the brewery, and what she sees in store for her future and the future of the business.
You can listen to the show streaming online at http://kmud.org/site001/program-schedule/302.html. It is in their audio archive under Women on Wednesday, the (11-12) edition. The interviews start about 12 minutes into that hour and are very entertaining.
Reggae Riding thanks KMUD for their support of this family event and for hosting such a great show!

Community Park Trail Work

On this past Monday's 4pm ride, a few of us stayed a little later to do some trail work in the Community Park. Our mission was to fix the first section of the New Forestry trail, which was previously 4. very tight, un-makeable switchbacks. It is now one sweet, extended switchback. Wish I had pictures of the finished product, but we were too busy digging and shaping to catch the action. Here's the group shot:

Team Lost Coast Brewery/ Reggae Riding in the news!

The Redwood Times ran a great article about Team Lost Coast Brewery last week. We made the front page! Rebecca Washburn did a fabulous job with the article, and we even made into the sports section of the Times-Standard up North. Check out the article- http://www.redwoodtimes.com/news/ci_6461021

Send out a copy to your friends and get them hyped about the event, happening in less than 3 weeks!
